Adam Roman prelegentem EuroSTAR 2018
Adam Roman, autor książki "Testowanie i jakość oprogramowania" oraz trener testerzy.pl wystąpi podczas EuroSTAR 2018 - największej konferencji testerskiej w Europie!

Trzeciego dnia konferencji Adam zaprezentuje temat Increasing the tester’s creativity – a scientific approach.

Opis prezentacji

Very often when given a testing task, many testers have this ‘je ne sais pas’ feeling. They just don’t know (or, at least, are not quite sure) how to approach the problem in order to design strong and thoughtful tests (or test ideas). There are many reasons for that: problem complexity, poor requirements, lack of business understanding etc. What’s more, even under the propitious circumstances, like full and detailed documentation, the specification will not tell us *how* to test.

In this talk I would like to present a simple method for boosting the tester’s creativity when designing good, effective tests. The method is derived from the analogy with the way the physicists describe and test the physical world. However, in the IT world there exist plethora of unsupported claims about different tools, methods, frameworks and models. Bearing this in mind, as a scientist I couldn’t just assume – without any supporting data – that my method works OK .

Therefore, I approached the problem in a professional, scientific way. During the talk I will present the results of the controlled experiment on the method’s effectiveness. I will also discuss some interesting, suprising behavior of the testers involved in the experiment. These observations lead to very simple conclusions and rules that may also be helpful in the tester’s everyday work.

Kilka słów o Adamie

Doktor habilitowany nauk technicznych w zakresie informatyki. Współtwórca studiów podyplomowych „Testowanie oprogramowania” na UJ. Jego zainteresowania naukowe obejmują m.in. badania nad nowymi metrykami jakości oprogramowania, testowanie mutacyjne oraz efektywne techniki projektowania testów. W ramach Polskiego Komitetu Normalizacyjnego współpracował nad międzynarodowymi normami ISO/IEEE 29119 Software Testing Standard oraz ISO/IEEE 25000 System and Software Quality Requirements and Evaluation.

Autor monografii „Testowanie i jakość oprogramowania. Modele, techniki, narzędzia” (PWN 2015) oraz szeregu publikacji naukowych i popularyzatorskich w obszarze testowania. Prelegent na wielu konferencjach testerskich (m.in. TestWell, Testing Cup, Testwarez, KraQA, WarszawQA).

Ma wieloletnie doświadczenie w prowadzeniu szkoleń ISTQB zarówno na poziomie podstawowym, jak i zaawansowanym. Recenzent sylabusa i przykładowych pytań testowych dla modułu ISTQB Model-Based Tester. Certyfikowany tester (ISTQB Full Advanced Level) oraz inżynier jakości oprogramowania (ASQ Certified Software Quality Engineer).

Zwolennik racjonalnego działania i myślenia systemowego.

Jesteśmy niezmiernie dumni, że naszą kadrę trenerską tworzą prelegenci światowych konferencji poświęconych testowaniu. Serdecznie gratulujemy Adamowi i życzymy mu powodzenia!

Przypominamy też, że tegoroczna edycja EuroStar odbędzie się 12-15 listopada br. w Hadze (Holandia).
